This amazing book helped me with stitch selections and the more difficult bit of how to apply different stitches to my canvases. No single book has helped me more than this and it's companion book.

This book opens new doors by looking at needlepoint through the eyes of an artist. I was drawn to it by the beautiful cover art and was so pleased to see that it combines my interest in needlepoint and landscape painting. This is not another "follow the dots" instruction book, but instead starts with paintings and shows ways to enhance and personalize the designs with creative stitch work. Once you start to think this way, you will find yourself creating your own designs drawn from photographs, the view outside your window, whatever catches your fancy. This is the most exciting and original approach to needlework I have seen in years.
