This set really is for beginners. It has a picture of the different type of notes (quarter, whole, etc.) all the different signs (rest, 3/4, 4/4, crescendo, etc.)It also has the flashcards for the notes, it does not include the entire base and treble clef. My set went from low A, up to about D on the treble clef. I wanted ones that also include the notes beyond the clef (high or low C for example).Also, it has some of the keys, but it only included 2 of them, only C and G Major. I was very disappointed that it did not include all of the main keys.The paper is thick and the size if good (easy to read), but there are more than 100 cards, and they are all loose. I thought some king of clip or ring would be helpful. Also, there is one hole at the tip middle, a horrible place if I were to clip them together.

I was somewhat disappointed since the flash cards do not contain notes above and below the staff. I had to make my own.

These cards really helped me learn the ten notes on both sides of middle C. I wish there had been about four more notes each side.but they really do speed up the learning process for the beginner and make learning to read muisic attainable for us all.When you see how easy it is you really have to wonder how a guy like Paul McCarty could go a whole career without learning to read music.

I wish there would have been more cards for note recognition or foundational topics and less of the Interval / Chord cards. For a beginning pianist, I feel that note and key recognition is the main focus, with intervals and chords to be a later topic. However, both of my girls (age 6-just starting to take lessons; and age 10-taking for a few years) are able to use and learn from the cards.

Daughter just started piano- we got these and the beginner books set.

These flash cards are well designed and are easy to us and understand no matter how much or how little musical training a person has. Great for introductory piano students or to use as a refresher for intermediate students.

I was looking for basic flash cards for my beginning piano player at home. Exactly what I expected. Very helpful and they seem pretty sturdy.
